Sleep is an inevitable part of human system. A person cannot function properly without getting a good amount of Sleep. Humans spend nearly a third of their lives asleep. The recommended amount of sleep for a healthy adult is at least seven hours. Most people don't need more than eight hours in bed to be well rested. Sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to recharge, leaving you refreshed and alert when you wake up. Humans may suffer from various Sleep disorder, such as insomnia, hypersomnia, narcolepsy, and sleep apnea; parasomnia such as sleepwalking and bruxism and circadian rhythm sleep disorder .The use of artificial light has substantially altered humanity's sleep patterns.
BUT the million dollar question how can we improve our sleep quality and get the reward that we deserve !!!
Solution to sleep deprivation that have worked for many people :
1. Meditation
Meditation may help you sleep better because it involves a relaxation technique thereby helping to quieten the mind and body while enhancing inner peace. Meditation also helps to reduce insomnia and sleep troubles by promoting calmness.
2. Physical activity and exercise
Physical activities and exercise improved sleep quality or duration. Proper exercise can alleviate sleep-related problems and help you get an adequate amount of rest.
3. Vegetarian diet
A plant-based diet may lead to increased levels chemicals in the brain (such as amino acid tryptophan), leading to increased melatonin and serotonin metabolites, enhancing sleep quality and quantity. A non veg diet might be hard to digest in the stomach just before a sleep affecting our sleep quality. Avoid the caffeine just before bed.
4. Try to avoid screen time just before bed. Lights coming out of computers or mobile phones does affect our eyes and subsequently affecting our sleeping quality and quantity. A complete dark room might help to fall sleep better.
